JOCHWE POPCORN

As we are a farmer owned company we produce our own popcorn together with a few select farmers.  We produce premium quality bulk popcorn using green farming methods such as no-till methods and solar energy.  We have the only private owned solar farm in the Northern Cape.  All popcorn are irrigated and processed from green power.  We use water from the Orange River which is one of the cleanest rivers in Africa.  

We use specialised seeds from a breeder in the USA.  

The specific cultivars are selected according to customer's choice and years of trials and research in the European Union.  The popcorn are GM and gluten free.  

 

After the harvest the popcorn goes through a pre-cleaner and then gets stored in a computerised moisture managed silo.     

 

We use the best technology available during processing to guarantee the best quality popcorn in every bag.  Our factory is equipped according to world standards.  

During the cleaning process the popcorn passes through a colour sorter that views every kernel and determines the quality based on colour.  The colour must be of premium quality for the kernel to be used.
